What is Longarm Quilting?

Longarming is hand-guided quilting l. With my Gammill Classic Plus longarm quilting machine, I am able to create designs that transform your quilt top into an heirloom treasure.

Five Levels of Machine Quilting

At your request we can use a variety of pantograph patterns, or different levels of custom quilting. These would include freely meandering over the entire quilt, designing a pattern in the center with a design in the border, or follow set patterns over the entire quilt. There are always levels of custom quilting that we can discuss to best suite your need. Our l evels of quilting vary from 1¢ ($.01) per square inch to 3¢ ($.03) per square inch.

  • Level One includes light patterns, as meandering or suitable free motion design. ( 1¢ per square inch)
  • Level Two includes medium overall pantograph or free motion, with free motion in border. (1.5¢ per square inch)
  • Level Three includes light custom quilting, pantograph patterns or block patterns, with one separate border design. (2¢ per square inch)
  • Level Four includes medium custom quilting such as ’stitch in the ditch’, stippling, with cross-hatching one or two borders. (2.5¢ per square inch)
  • Level Five includes heavy custom heirloom quilting. (3¢ per square inch)

Shipping and handling will be included in your finished ordered quote, which is dependent upon the size of your quilt. Small, lap-sized, and youth sized quilts are $10 for shipping and handling, and twin, full, queen, and king are $14 for shipping and handling. All shipments will be insured up to $100. Contact us if you want to increase the insurance.

Please allow us two weeks to complete your order. Once we have received your payment in full, we will ship your finished quilt back to you via UPS.

How to prepare your quilt:

  • Your top should be pressed with all seams flat.
  • Do not baste, pin, or tack your three layers together.
  • Be aware that fullness and puckers which have been pieced in, cannot be “quilted out”. They will be eased in as well as can be.
  • Clip all threads on your top. Stray threads can show through lighter fabric.
  • Do not write the word “quilt” anywhere on the outside of the package, as this will draw attention to the value of the package.
  • Please include an emergency name inside the package that we can call, in case we have a difficult time contacting you.
  • Please include a copy of your transaction. This helps prevent any confusion.
